I work for the Transamerica Corporation, in the Murray, Utah office, (the city of Murray being a part of the greater Salt Lake City area). The arrangement is too familiar; the cubicle, the PC and the ever-shifting sheaves of paper. Actually, not to complain, as the tasks are varied, which prevents stagnation from setting in.
I have been interested in reading primarily fiction, but certainly not exclusively, and in writing, especially since I attended college. As a matter-of-fact, my record in higher academics looks something like Swiss cheese, since I occupied far too much of my time reading in the school library, and attempting to write creatively, to the point that the classes in my prescribed curricula went fallow.
I have completed two novel length manuscripts, the first entitled Battles Long Ago, which definitely identifies itself, beginning with page one, as an apprentice composition. It will require a full overwrite to be presentable, however, I will not be relegating it to the refuse heap, as I feel that it does have potential. The second manuscript has had the working title of The Tomb of the Devils, which title is metaphorical, as it has nothing to do with tombs, nor devils, although a reviewer might be inclined to call it a horror. (Naturally, I would hope not)!
I wish also to comment, that I have greatly enjoyed reading reviews on the Bookideas site, although I have not yet had the time, nor opportunity, to read all of them, and feel that my own efforts are certainly in the best of company.
Additionally, I am including, herewith, a review of The Scarlet Letter, by N. Hawthorne, which I had written for the site, before realizing that a review of that work had previously been placed on Bookideas.
Read the review here.
