Do you know what you get when you mix a financially struggling restaurant, a totally dysfunctional family named Antonucci, and a brimming plate of delicious lasagna? You get Trattoria, a first novel from Susan DiPlacido. Throw into that mix some love-sick would-be lovers, a man who comes home to find his wife cheating with the next-door neighbor, and a couple of gay roommates and things only get more interesting.

This book is gutsy and earthy. It is not for anyone who is offended by strong language. But if you don't mind some common curses and everyday language, then this book could be your cup of tea...or, should I say, plate of spaghetti?

Kudos to Ms. DiPlacido. The mature reader will appreciate her story line and I, for one, will be waiting impatiently for her next novel. Keep them coming, Susan!
