This is a great book! It is the first book in the Mitford series, which features Father Tim and his life in small town, USA. At first glance it may seem too boring for most, but trust me, it isn't. I have personally given this book to many people and every single one of them has finished reading the series (to date there are four books).

Father Tim is burnt out. He is so involved in the lives of the citizens of Mitford that he rarely has time to enjoy his own life. Add to this mix a small boy, a large dog and an interested widow next door and this is a light and fun book that is hard to put down. This is such an upbeat book that it is easy to love the characters and the town. I actually care about the characters and what happens to them and that is rare. Being the dog lover that I am there was one disturbing part of the book when Barnabas the dog was kidnapped. But not to worry, this is not a book about bad things happening in the world we live in, it is about good things happening in a world we wish we knew.
