Often children hate word problems in math. You know those drills: Train A leaves Las Vegas at 12:00 and Train B leaves Reno at 12:15. If Train A travels at 60 miles an hour and Train B travels at 75 miles an hour, and Reno and Las Vegas are 250 miles apart, when will the two trains meet?
This book isn't quite that dry. It explores the many disciplines of math, such as logic, geometry, statistics, probability, fractions, etc. There are 101 potential problems for the reader to figure out. Many have Hints or Clues to aid the reader in determining the answer and explaining mathematical concepts. There are also historical facts, such as the mathematician who gives us the terms "algebra" and "algorithm."
This is a book children will enjoy as they learn math skills.
The book is aimed at children ages 10 to 14.
